You might think you already know the tale of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer from the famous song; but are you also familiar with the Jazz Penguin, Nina the singing Walrus and the Blues Polar Bear who helped Rudy find his inner jazz?

On Friday the lucky children of St George’s School were transported to the North Pole (The Place Theatre, Bedford!) and treated to a jazzy and creative retelling of the story, in ‘The Ballad of Rudy’.

Three incredible actors/musicians playing a whole variety of characters serenaded us with live performances on trumpet, sax, guitar, drums, flute, cornet and double bass to teach us (and Rudy) the true meaning of jazz.

The children were encouraged to sing, improvise, click, clap and dance along and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their magical musical afternoon.
