The basic first aid course for children was another part of Science Week. This was an opportunity for all children to learn some important lifesaving skills.

All children were taught how to make a 999 call and how to put somebody into the recovery position.

The children in Year Two to Year Six were also taught about CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). They were shown how to do this using the models brought in by the trainer and found that it was not as easy as they might think!

Although this was an enjoyable experience for the children it was also a valuable skill for them to learn. At the end of the day they were all proud to be awarded their own first aid certificates.
